This year's installment of the renowned SEMA motor show, scheduled to take place from November 4 to November 7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, is still ripe with surprises from its exhibitors. Among them are Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), which showcases their newest concepts that may soon hit local car dealerships in Indianapolis and elsewhere.
FCA's lineup for the 2014 SEMA show will feature several models familiar to most car enthusiasts, although all of them have been significantly "pimped up" for the exhibition. Dan Mihalascu of CarScoops.com reports:
Among those featured is the 2015 Dodge Challenger, whose design is sure to bring auto enthusiasts a good sense of nostalgia. Taking cues from the old American muscle cars, the styling of the car is heavily-inspired by the classic Trans Am racer from the 70s. It sports a 6.4-liter, 485-horsepower V8 under the hood.
Next is the Charger R/T, which Chrysler itself claims as the fastest production sedan. According to the manufacturer, the car (also named the Hellcat) can go 0-60 in under 4 seconds, a quarter of a mile in 11 seconds, and maxes out at 204 mph. The car has been updated by FCA's in-house tuner Mopar with a sleeker body kit and a cold-air intake, and boasts a 5.7-liter V8. The Dart R/T and Viper complete the Dodge line, with the latter sporting a powerful 8.4-liter V106.
Moving down FCA's exhibition line, Jeep also has its own gems to bare. Among those is the 2015 Renegade, a subcompact CUV which rides on Fiat-Chrysler's patented small-wide 4x4 architecture. The Jeep line is rounded up with the Easter Jeep Safari, Wrangler MOJO, and the Cherokee Dakar. Last but not least, FCA bares the Ram 2500 Outdoorsman truck- which features a tent in the back for sleeping- as well as the Fiat 500 Abarth Scorpion.
For people who will not have a chance to attend the 2014 SEMA Show, they still have a chance to see FCA's newest cars on the web when the exhibition kicks off, or as soon as the cars finally hit a nearby Chrysler dealer in Indianapolis such as Fletcher Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM.
