2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Review

2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

The 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a throwback to the rough-and-tumble WWII model that revolutionized the market, but it adds some interior creature comforts and cutting-edge technology that plant it firmly in the 21st century.

Drivers in Franklin, Greenwood, and New Whiteland can find out more about the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with our comprehensive model review.

Jeep Wrangler Interior

2019 Jeep Wrangler Interior

The Wrangler Unlimited interior can be practical or luxurious, depending on the model you choose. Base versions have wash-and-wear materials that are designed to be rinsed clean, but the upper trim levels have downright decadent upholstery and surfaces. The Unlimited offers seating for four or five adults in two rows, along with plenty of head- and legroom. The outward visibility is excellent as well, so the cabin feels airy and bright, even with the top up and doors on.

In the cargo hold, the Wrangler Unlimited can accommodate 32 cubic feet of cargo space with all the seats upright, which expands to 72.4 cubic feet with the seats folded down. That’s plenty of space for luggage, camping gear, sporting equipment, and some other bulky cargo. The rear seats also fold neatly into the floor, and six rugged tie-down points and an underfloor compartment improve the cargo configuration options.

Jeep Wrangler Safety Features

2019 Jeep Wrangler UnlimitedThe Wrangler Unlimited comes with additional advanced safety features for the new model year. Blind-spot monitors, parking sensors, forward-collision warning, and adaptive cruise control add to the previous rearview camera and four standard airbags. Automatic emergency braking is also available for some models, which applies the brakes to prevent a collision if the system detects a vehicle or obstruction in your path.

Whether on or off road, these features are a helpful addition to maintain visibility and control of your vehicle. Using camera systems and sensors, these safety features alert you to other vehicles in your blind spot, approaching from the rear, or moving slowly in front, helping you to prevent a collision.

Jeep Wrangler Towing Capacity

The base engine for the Wrangler Unlimited is a 3.6-liter V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces 285 horsepower and enough low-end grunt for daily driving and off-road adventures, but those looking for a little more power will prefer the 2.0-liter turbo-four with a mild-hybrid system that brings the output to 270 horsepower.

Both engines are rated to tow up to 3,500 pounds in four-door versions, which is enough for light towing needs and weekend recreation, such as a trailer of ATVs or a small boat. The available tow package includes an integrated hitch with four-pin basic and seven-pin brake-compatible trailer wiring.
