For all of these answers, as well as an in-depth look into the Wagoneer family, continue reading this 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer vs. Jeep Wagoneer comparison.

Power & Performance of the Grand Wagoneer & the Wagoneer

2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer power and performanceFrom sticks and snow to ponds and pavement, both Wagoneer models were designed to tackle practically any road condition or weather Mother Nature sends your way.

In fact, they both feature the Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System, which allows users to toggle between drive modes that include Rock, Sand/Mud, Snow, Auto, and Sport. Maximum traction is applied by adjusting shift patterns, torque distribution, and engine performance. You’ll find this system standard on the Grand Wagoneer and available on the Wagoneer trim levels.

Under its hood, the Jeep Wagoneer sports a 5.7L V8 engine with eTorque, delivering 392 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. Not to mention the 10,000 pounds of maximum towing capacity and a Mild Hybrid System for extra power and capability.

As for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, drivers will find a 6.4L V8 engine netting 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. While this is slightly higher than with the Wagoneer’s 5.7L engine, maximum towing capacity is capped off at 9,850 pounds with the Grand Wagoneer.

2022 Wagoneer vs Grand Wagoneer: Space & Amenities for All

2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer interior spaceThe 2022 Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer offer a myriad of flexible seating and storage options to suit your needs and your lifestyle. Two second-row bucket seats are included in each vehicle's standard trim, allowing for a total of seven passengers. However, second-row bench seating is also available in the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer, bringing the total of seats up to eight.

Here’s the best part. Even when all the seats are upright and in use, you’ll still have plenty of room for groceries, sporting equipment, or luggage. We’re talking an impressive 27.4 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the third row, to be exact.

Of course, there are differences between these two interiors. For instance, the Grand Wagoneer comes standard with 24-way directional controlled driver and front passenger seating with massaging, power-lumbar support. The Wagoneer, on the other hand, showcases practical yet still relaxing driver and front passenger seating, with 8-way directional control and power 4-way lumbar support.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer vs Jeep Wagoneer: Ultra High-Tech Entertainment

Vehicles this luxurious deserve equally premium entertainment—and these two SUVs are no exception.

The nucleus of these systems is Jeep’s standard Uconnect® 5 NAV. In the Wagoneer, this infotainment system is displayed on a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen display, while the Grand Wagoneer supplies a slightly larger, 12-inch touchscreen display. Regardless of size, they both feature the same intuitive access to entertainment and vehicle information.

For even more connectivity, why not add your smartphone to the mix? Both Wagoneer models include wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™ integration. Gain access to your most used applications, send and receive text messages, and more.
