2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Is it 2019 already? Well no, but at Fletcher CDJR, we like to keep our customers in Franklin, Greenwood, Indianapolis, and New Whiteland, IN, apprised of new car models. This includes gathering information and reviewing new models as they are released. The 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is already making an impact among automakers and car reviewers, so we have decided to start there, with our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review.

Performance

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee

One of the biggest changes to the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee is its new engine. The 3.2-liter and 2.4-liter V6 engines are still available, but now drivers can choose the new 2.0-liter turbo four, as well. The new turbo four has an impressive 270 horsepower, which can be nudged up to 271 in some cases. In comparison, the 2.4-liter engine still manages an impressive 184 horsepower, a good number for what is considered the vehicle's base engine.

With an updated transmission and nine-speed automatic shifting, the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee's overall ride has made some improvements, too. This model has more torque than its predecessors at 295 lb-ft. Thus, this Jeep model is bulkier than previous models, but potentially perfect for off-road trips or difficult rural back roads.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been-and will be-noted for its practicality and the ease with which drivers can tackle everyday routes in it, as much as for its off-road prowess. For example, the approved approach and departure capabilities make it easier to brake in heavy traffic, and pick up where you left off once the road is clear again. This Grand Cherokee's tires are knobbier than previous ones, but this may give you an edge during that trip to visit friends in the country, or while on your mountain getaway. Jeep specifically stages off-road courses so that drivers can have an idea of exactly what those trips may feel like. In addition, slightly higher ride height guarantees you will always have panoramic views, whether in the mountains or on your morning commute.

Safety Features and Related Tech

2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior

Already, the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee has distinguished itself with its new lineup of safety features. Car reviewers claim this vehicle has every safety feature a driver could want. Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning are standard on many cars these days, including Jeeps. What sets this car apart are features like roll mitigation, which keeps your Jeep from rocking side to side or slipping from your control during rough drives.

Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are standard in the 2019 model, as well. These may be especially helpful if, similar to some Jeep drivers in our area, you need your vehicle to perform well in bad weather or at night. We also like the Jeep Grand Cherokee's Adaptive Cruise Control and backup camera feature, which puts you in complete control of your driving and keeps you aware of nearby cars and pedestrians.

Design

Finally, we would like to mention the 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee's new and more streamlined design. On previous models, the headlights were so obtrusive that buyers were turned off. Jeep tweaked that this year, giving the headlights a simpler and more mainstream look. They also smoothed out the tail end of the Jeep and added a more upright hood.
