Performance and Towing

Equipped with a high-output 6.7-liter Cummins engine, the Ram 3500 makes an astonishing 400 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque, much of which is low-end, giving it a towing capacity of 35,100 pounds and a payload rating of 7,680 pounds.

Another 6.7-liter Cummins engine with 370 horsepower and 850 lb-ft of torque is available, on top of the base 6.4-liter gasoline engine with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Diesel engines come with six-speed automatic transmission, and an Aisin AS69RC works with the high-output engine. The gas engine mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission. These engines combine with an all-new, lighter, more rigid frame with high-strength steel, which makes it easier for these engines to use their power efficiently.

Interior

Heavy-duty or not, the Ram 3500 offers all the same customization, luxury, and refinement as its smaller models. From the work-duty model to the decadent luxury trucks, the Ram 3500 boasts a spacious interior with plenty of head- and legroom, as well as heavily bolstered seating for long-distance comfort. High-end leather upholstery is also included for some trim levels, making the interior even more decadent.

The Ram 3500 comes in Regular Cab, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab, which combines with 6-foot-4 or 8-foot bed sizes. There’s plenty of space for hauling in these beds, but the class-exclusive RamBox® cargo management system allows for segmented, secure storage of cargo that you wouldn’t want exposed to the elements. There’s also a cargo management system for the cabin, giving you storage options for inside as well.

Technology

The Ram 3500 is well-equipped at all levels, including features like satellite radio, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a sharp infotainment system with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration for endless entertainment options. Its best feature is the class-exclusive 12-inch touchscreen infotainment option, however, which delivers crystal-clear images for both media and the available safety features.

There are many available safety features for the Ram 3500 as well, such as a park assistance feature with six sensors to guide the truck into parking spaces and protect the dual fenders. Adaptive forward lighting and a surround-view camera also work to maintain visibility and alert you to potential obstructions around your vehicle, and the forward-collision warning with active braking system ensures you have ample warning to prevent a crash, even with an attached trailer.
