Performance

2019 Chrysler PacificaThough performance may not be at the top of the list for a minivan, it’s important to choose a vehicle with enough power to make passing and merging safe, as well as a comfortable ride quality that makes the ride enjoyable for passengers. Agility is also helpful since such large vehicles are much easier to drive when they’re highly maneuverable.

The Pacifica comes with a solid 287 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission that has ample power for daily driving. The Pacifica also has smooth, agile handling and reliable steering for better drivability. The Odyssey has a 280 horsepower V6 and a comfortable ride, as well as minimal body roll. The Sienna has a 296 horsepower V6 that delivers strong acceleration, but it sacrifices some of its road manners for this performance.

Interior

The Pacifica, Odyssey, and Sienna seat seven or eight people, depending on the configuration for the second row. All three also have cloth seats standard, though leather seats with heating and ventilation are available. When it comes to passenger space, however, the Pacifica has enough headroom and legroom for full-size adult passengers to ride comfortably in all three rows, whereas the third rows of the Odyssey and Sienna are only suitable for smaller passengers.

In the cargo hold, the Pacifica has 140 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The Odyssey has a maximum of 158 cubic feet of space, and the Sienna has a maximum of 150 cubic feet of space. Though these two minivans boast the larger cargo holds, they lack the innovative Stow ’n Go® seating, which are second-row seats that fold into the floor to maximize the usable cargo space. The Odyssey and Sienna require removing the second-row seats to use that space.

Features

2019 Chrysler Pacifica

All three minivans have a long list of standard and available features to enhance the ride comfort and entertainment. The Pacifica has a 7-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth®, Uconnect® Access, smartphone integration, and a 6-speaker stereo. The Sienna offers many similar features as standard equipment. The Odyssey is sparse at the base level, only including a 5-inch touchscreen, a stereo, and Bluetooth®. Available features for all three minivans include upgraded infotainment, premium sound, rear-entertainment systems, and more.

With its innovative features, the Pacifica has an edge. The KeySense parental controls feature promotes safer driving by muting speakers, limiting speed, and preventing certain security features from being used while driving. It also offers an onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, dual rear touchscreens (unlike the Blu-ray™ for the Odyssey and Sienna), and a built-in vacuum for convenient cleanup on the road.
